Got A Baby Face Could Longevity

Danish, Fortunately for those who had a cute face or baby face. Researchers say, someone with a face that looks younger than real age would enjoy a longer life.

Professor Kaare Christensen of the University of Southern Danish testing to ensure that the structure influence on the health of a person’s face.

He and his team analyzed the twins to determine survival rates based on facial structure, physical endurance, brain function and also chromosomal DNA. But it was the best method is to look at his own face in the mirror.

“Quite simply, someone who has lived more weight tend to die sooner. And a person’s life can be seen from scratch in the face,” said Professor Christensen as quoted Dailymail, Monday (14/12/2009).

Studies conducted since 2001 to 1826 Danish twin pairs at age of 70 years. Participants undergo various physical tests, brain and facial photographs.

Three groups were instructed assessors to predict the age of participants through the photographs and the results compared with the original age and participants kesehetan records.

Researchers also explore the medical records and death of participants during the study lasted 7 years. And the result, the structure of the face are related to one’s age. Researchers have considered all factors, including gender and the environment in which participants developed.

Twin pairs who had an older face first reported death of a spouse than a younger face. Researchers also have linked it with telomere length, which is a small valve at the end of the chromosome that serves to protect the DNA from the inflammation or the aging process.

Telomere length is an indication of biological age that determines a person. The longer the telomere, a person will become healthier, younger and live longer.

“But do not bother to check on telomere length in the body, just look at the structure of the face in the mirror,” said Christensen.
